November 20, 2012 - The Greater Western Library Alliance (GWLA) is pleased to announce a pilot project with Relais for their Discovery to Delivery (D2D) system (http://goo.gl/TlyEi).

At the 2012 Fall Membership Meeting held in Houston, the deans and directors of GWLA were very supportive of the report recommendations made by the Resource Sharing and Document Delivery Committee. The group spontaneously voted to move forward with a pilot project to implement Relais D2D .

At this time, GWLA member institutions interested in the pilot project may choose to participate fully or as a lender only. Institutions may also opt not to participate in the pilot, but may choose to participate in the future. At this time, five GWLA institutions have indicated that they will participate in the pilot project.

The project timeline is still under development, but in the coming months there will be a number of information events available to GWLA members interested in the pilot. February 1, 2013 is the deadline to join the pilot project.

In Spring 2012, GWLA hosted a webinar presented by staff of the CIC about the CIC's implementation of D2D. A recording of that webinar is available online:  http://bit.ly/MvI36L.
