Open Access Policy Unanimously Approved by the Oregon State University Faculty Senate

posted Jun 20, 2013, 11:02 AM by Lars Hagelin
The Oregon State University Faculty Senate has unanimously approved a Harvard-style Open Access policy. This is the culmination of advocacy and outreach, plus partnering with Faculty Senate Library Committee leadership and key OSU Libraries personnel.

With this policy, faculty grant Oregon State University a non-exclusive license to exercise any and all rights under copyright relating to their scholarly articles, in any medium, and to authorize others to do the same, provided that the articles are not sold for a profit. According to the policy, faculty then submit an electronic copy of the accepted (post-peer review, pre-typeset) manuscript of their articles for dissemination via ScholarsArchive@OSU, the OSU institutional repository.

An FAQ site, including a link to the policy text itself, is available at: http://cdss.library.oregonstate.edu/open-access
