Assistant Librarian : Arts and Letters and Honors — Northern Arizona University

Post date: May 18, 2021

Northern Arizona University's Cline Library seeks a creative, collaborative, and collegial Assistant Librarian.

As primary liaison to the College of Arts and Letters and the Honors College, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design, delivery, and assessment of instruction, services, and programming that contribute to student success and research excellence at NAU.

The librarian will collaborate with faculty and library colleagues to make decisions about the physical and online collections important to the colleges and on open educational resources and digital humanities efforts. NAU will soon begin transitioning to a new General Education program, providing an unprecedented opportunity to collaborate with faculty to more fully integrate information literacy into the curriculum.

The librarian will collaborate with the colleges on programs such as the College of Arts and Letters Film Series, the Grand Canyon Semester, and author events. The librarian will build on the colleges' strong connections with the library's Special Collections and Archives and the potential to increase their connections with the library's Experiential Learning program, which offers a MakerLab, virtual reality, augmented reality and more. The librarian will also work with the Community Engagement Librarian to increase community engagement via programming that supports NAU's recently earned status as a Hispanic-Serving Institution.

Candidates from underrepresented backgrounds and candidates who have had experience working with students from underserved populations are encouraged to apply.
