Assistant/Associate Librarian (Collections Analyst) -- Utah State University Libraries

Utah State University (USU) Libraries seeks an innovative, and service-minded Librarian to be part of the collections team and play a key role in developing data-informed collection strategies. The Collections Analyst will work in a collaborative environment engaging internal and external stakeholders to further the role of collections in the teaching, learning and research mission of the institution. The Collections Analyst will ensure that USU Libraries is able to nimbly adapt to new and emerging areas of focus and align library resources with the needs of a diverse campus community. The Collections Analyst will provide analytical skills and creative solutions to support the development of strategies for evaluating different types of collections (e.g., circulating, special, distinctive, electronic) across a range of disciplines and promote transparency of collection-related processes and budgets. The successful applicant will work in a dynamic, collaborative environment with support for professional growth and development. 


USU Libraries is currently wrapping up a realignment process that will position the Libraries to be agile and at the forefront of changing user needs. We anticipate this will be completed Fall 2023. Please note that these new alignments may not be reflected on the Libraries’ website or public presences until the end of the process. Current information on the new organizational structure can be requested from Carol Kochan or Becky Skeen. The successful applicant will report to the chair overseeing collection management. 


The position is a 12-month, tenure track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Librarian, depending on experience. Applicants demonstrating evidence of preferred qualifications with a proven track record of research and scholarship can be considered for a rank of Assistant or Associate Librarian with years credited towards tenure. The position is open fall 2023 and the start date is negotiable.


Salary: Minimum salary of $55,000, commensurate with education and experience, plus excellent benefits
