The Iowa State University Library (Library) seeks an innovative, collaborative, and visionary leader to serve as its inaugural Associate University Librarian for Academic Services. The individual will chart the vision and strategic direction for the newly created Academic Services division. As the lead of approximately 40 staff across six departments, this role will shape, launch, and scale the division, which combines the operations of Digital Scholarship & Initiatives, Preservation, and Special Collections & University Archives, and Research and Instruction Services. The individual in this position will create a unified vision, collaborate with Library Administration on strategic planning, and build campus-wide relationships that drive forward momentum across Academic Services and the Library.

The Library is in the midst of an exciting and critical transformation, implementing innovative changes throughout its operations, structure, and culture. Together, we are not only redefining ourselves but expanding how people see and engage with a 21st-century, land-grant academic library. We are focusing on expanding experiential learning opportunities that deepen research outcomes, establishing on- and off-campus partnerships that broaden reach and impact, and enhancing our support for student and faculty success. Reporting to the Dean of Library, the Associate University Librarian will play an important role in shaping the internal and external direction of the new division and the library at large.
