Reporting to the Head of Discovery Services, the Catalog Metadata Analyst will query and analyze catalog metadata held within the Libraries’ Ex Libris Alma system to support the department’s reporting and metadata reconciliation and remediation needs. Additionally, theAnalyst will monitor and assist in updating automated batch processes intended to load and reconcile bibliographic metadata in Alma. To ensure remediation efforts are focused appropriately, the Analyst will be tasked with troubleshooting metadata records within Alma and as published from Alma to the Libraries’ Ex Libris Primo discovery layer.

In performing this work, the Catalog Metadata Analyst will support the work of other catalogers in the department, primarily the Head of Discovery Services and the Catalog Metadata Integrity Librarian. The Analyst may also respond to queries from other faculty and staff in the Libraries and participate in departmental and divisional projects as relevant and appropriate.
