Director, Open Scholarship & Publishing and Arts & Humanities -- University of Washington

Under the general direction of the Senior Associate Dean of the Research & Learning Services Portfolio, the Director of Open Scholarship & Publishing and Arts & Humanities provides leadership, strategic vision, and oversight for Scholarly Communication, Copyright, physical and virtual services of the Open Scholarship Commons, Research Commons, and Government Publications, Maps, Microforms & Newspapers. The Director leads the Arts & Humanities liaison team, actively linking subject and functional expertise to develop robust services in support of key UW institutional initiatives (e.g. digital scholarship, open access mandates). The Director serves as a representative to Libraries committees and cross-campus partnerships focused on open scholarship and scholarly publishing and is a core member of the Research & Learning Services Directorate. This position works with multiple teams (Arts & Humanities Liaisons, Scholarly Communication Outreach & Education, Open Scholarship) on initiatives supporting the Libraries’ strategic plan.

Salary:  The base salary range for this position will be $7,900-$10,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include a relocation incentive payment and a moving allowance.
