Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC) seeks an E-Resources Acquisitions Manager. This position reports directly to the Director of Electronic Resources of the Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC). This position is responsible for assisting in the management, administrative direction, and coordination of all aspects of E-Resources collections, including acquisitions and licensing, by FLVC on behalf of the State University System (SUS) and the Florida College System (FCS) pursuant to Florida Statute 1006.73. A key role of this position is to lead the E-Resources Group Licensing program offered to SUS and FCS member institutions on an annual basis, and therefore, it is expected that the individual in this role understands the electronic resource life cycle as described in the NASIG Core Competencies for Electronic Resource Librarians.
In consultation with the Director of E-Resources, provide leadership for the annual e-resources group licensing program, with content valued at approximately $2.3 million, to support the teaching, learning, and research needs of the twelve state universities and twenty-eight state colleges. Coordinate e-resources group licensing activities with extensive planning throughout the year and frequent communication with internal and external stakeholders. Manage an assigned portfolio of e-resources vendors; additional vendors may be assigned in consultation with the Director for E-Resources. Review and negotiate assigned contracts and related documents. Negotiate pricing with vendors to ensure savings to member institutions. Provide significant input regarding the program's strategic direction in consultation with the Director for E-Resources.
Manage all acquisition and business functions related to group licensing and the state-funded collection, including processing price quotes, orders, and cancellations. Ensure compliance with policies and rules of Florida State University finance and administration; payment to vendors; payment processing guidelines, as amended, regarding the approval and/or processing of vendors' invoices and/or distribution of warrants to vendors. Serve as a liaison to FLVC's Financial Services Unit and is responsible for serving as a resource for staff in resolving invoicing problems with vendors. Responsible for coordinating acquisitions workflows in Alma and Consortia Manager. Supervises and trains staff to ensure all annual subscriptions are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
Assists with managing the approximately $7 million state-funded collection of e-resources licensed to support the teaching, learning, and research needs of the twelve state universities and twenty-eight state colleges. Obtains price quotes; negotiates pricing with assigned vendors; and provides direction to staff in processing orders. Participates as needed in FLVC committees, task forces, and negotiation teams.
Stays abreast of e-resources management and troubleshooting activities in the Alma/Primo environment. Provides e-resources technical support in Alma/Primo in collaboration with other FLVC departments. Some complex troubleshooting issues requiring advanced technical skills may be escalated to this position for collaborative problem-solving with internal and external partners. Troubleshooting problems must be resolved in a timely manner so that SUS and FCS member institutions' faculty, staff, and students do not experience delays in access to electronic resources. Serve as backup for electronic resource usage statistics software product manager.
