The University of Delaware’s Library, Museums and Press seeks a dynamic individual to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of its Special Collections department. Driven by an accessibility and inclusivity mindset, the successful candidate will leverage the expertise of the department’s staff to foster innovative engagement with its collections, services, and physical and virtual spaces to center the user’s experience.

Reporting to the Director of Special Collections and Museums, the Head, Special Collections Department will lead a department comprised of 12 staff members. Collaboration with colleagues throughout the Library, Museums, and Press and units across the University of Delaware will be critical for the successful implementation of strategic initiatives that promote access and discovery, experiential learning, and diverse public engagement.
