The University of Delaware Library, Museums and Press seeks an early career librarian with an interest in open education, open access, and publishing. Working closely with colleagues who advocate for open educational resources (OER) in the Library, Museums and Press and across the University, the Pauline A. Young Resident will have the opportunity to lead efforts to develop sustainable workflows around OER publishing. Interest in OER has been growing at the University of Delaware. The University’s Strategic Plan specifically mentions the need to expand the use of and access to OER to help reduce students’ costs. The Library also offers yearly grants to faculty to support the adoption of open and affordable course materials. We have supported dozens of projects across academic departments and have saved students nearly half a million dollars in materials costs. We are excited to further support open publishing as a next step in this work.
