The Preservation Assistant will work closely with the Preservation Technician to support the preservation of items for University of Arizona Libraries’ Special Collections and Main Library. Item-level preservation work will mainly consist of dry cleaning of and creating preservation enclosures for new acquisitions and collection items selected by Special Collections staff members and assisting in small treatments on collection items. Collection-level preservation tasks include assisting in conducting preservation surveys at Special Collections and monitoring the storage environment of Special Collections. The Preservation Assistant will also assist in training and coordinating work of student employees in item-level preservation work when necessary.

This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position for 1 year.

Pay:$16.50 - $20.63/hr
