The University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) Libraries invites applications from collaborative and innovative candidates for the position of Special Materials and Continuing Resources Cataloging Librarian! Special Materials and Continuing Resources Cataloging Librarian is a non-tenure track Teaching Assistant Professor position that performs original and complex copy cataloging for a variety of formats with a primary emphasis on unique materials that may include rare books, maps, and special collections, archival, and government information materials. This individual serves as the Libraries’ continuing resources cataloging expert and performs original and complex copy cataloging for continuing resources. They participate in the development, evaluation, and documentation of policies, procedures, and workflows related to the cataloging of unique materials and all continuing resources and serve as a contact between RDS and other library units in these areas. This individual will also contribute to the implementation of the FOLIO library services platform and the team’s Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC) cataloging efforts and linked data initiatives.


As a member of the University Libraries faculty, the Special Materials and Continuing Resources Cataloging Librarian will be expected to maintain a record of scholarly research/creative work, participate in professional service activities, and actively engage in faculty governance. This position has the opportunity to work in a hybrid capacity. This is a non-tenure track, faculty position that will be hired at the Teaching Assistant Professor rank and report to the Lead of the Special Materials Cataloging Section. This section is part of the Libraries’ Resource Description Services Team which is part of the Research & Innovation Strategies Chapter.  Please see the Libraries’ organizational chart.
