University Historian -- Rice University

This position is focused on the historical research needs of Rice University, particularly including those of the board, administration, and faculty as they evaluate past, present, and future university policies and decisions.


Performs archival research by request of Rice University board, faculty, administration, and archives staff, using reference tools such as archival finding aids at http://archives.library.rice.edu, published materials listed in the public catalog at library.rice.edu, digital sources available at scholarship.rice.edu, and others as needed.


Builds relationships with faculty, staff, students, and alumni in an effort to promote the mission of the university archives and build collections. Supervised by Head of Special Collections, Fondren Library.
