GWLA Selects ConsortiaManager to Enhance Services to Members

The Greater Western Library Alliance (GWLA) has chosen ConsortiaManager as their solution to manage consortial licenses and agreements, beginning with the 2018 renewal cycle. The 36 GWLA member institutions, and approximately 60 affiliated non-member institutions, will begin use of the new interface for consortial agreements following implementation in the summer of 2017.

With the implementation of ConsortiaManager, GWLA will save time and resources by streamlining the tasks associated with the acquisition cycle. Through ConsortiaManager’s integrated member interface, GWLA members will handle Renewals, Invoices, and Cost Avoidance reports; IP-address changes; Price models; and all other tasks related to the acquisition of content.

After having looked into the current processes of GWLA, we feel confident that both GWLA staff and the member libraries will benefit from the streamlining of communication and the enhanced information available within ConsortiaManager. Anne McKee, GWLA Program Officer for Resource Sharing added, “After handling both proposals and renewals for GWLA utilizing only spreadsheets, faulty memories, and massive amounts of emails; I am so pleased to move to ConsortiaManager that was created expressly for consortia and their unique needs. I estimate ConsortiaManager will give me back at least 40% of my time to devote to more important activities such as resource collaboration and inter-connectivity. The ability for our members to see their licenses, order/financial records and create cost avoidance reports on the fly AND in real time is invaluable.”

With their decision, GWLA becomes the sixth consortium in the United States to implement ConsortiaManager.
