King County Library System (KCLS) is seeking a service-minded, strategic-thinking Librarian Services Manager (official title: Librarian and Information Services Manager) to join the Cascade region’s management team.
As a Librarian Services Manager, you will advance the KCLS mission, vision, and values by supervising, mentoring, and supporting librarian staff across all specialties. Your leadership will help ensure high-quality service delivery in the library, in the community, and online.
In this role, you will work closely with the Regional Management Team to provide strategic support and subject-matter expertise. Together, you will help ensure that library and information services are delivered effectively, efficiently, and in alignment with KCLS standards, policies, and service directives.
You will guide assigned staff activities across the region, including communicating and implementing policies, procedures, programs, and projects. The Librarian Services Manager plays a key role in developing and executing strategies and supporting programming.
As a member of the KCLS team, your background in library service will inform your ability to apply management and supervisory best practices, champion Intellectual Freedom, and navigate challenging situations with confidence. You will model positive relationship-building with patrons, staff, and management, and help ensure the library remains responsive to community needs and interests. Experience building and leading a team of direct reports and providing clear expectations and direction is a strong plus.
Salary: $111,009.60 - $135,075.20 Annually
